Stansborough products and materials have featured in a variety of TV and film projects since the iconic Fellowship Cloaks from the Peter's Jackson's "Fellowship of the Ring" in 1998.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

In 1998 we started work with Ngila Dickson and her team of costume designers for all the lead characters in Peter Jackson’s famous trilogy – ‘The Lord of The Rings’.

The Hobbit Trilogy

Stansborough produced a variety of pelts and costumes for the Hobbit Trilogy

Chronicles of Narnia

The Chronicles of Narnia present the adventures of children who play central roles in the unfolding history of the fictional realm of Narnia, a place where animals talk, magic is common, and good battles evil. Each of the books (with the exception of The Horse and His Boy) features as its protagonists children from our world who are magically transported to Narnia, where they are called upon to help the Lion Aslan handle a crisis in the world of Narnia.

In 2003 we were approached by Isis Mussenden and the wardrobe department working on the C S Lewis novel 'The Chronicles of Narnia'.

Stansborough created costume fabrics for Disney's production  of both 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe' and 'Prince Caspian'.

Mortal Engines

In a post-apocalyptic world where cities ride on wheels and consume each other to survive, two people meet in London and try to stop a conspiracy. The  main character ‘Hester Shaw’ wears a Stansborough wrap through most of the movie and we also provided pelts for jackets and other textiles for the set and costumes for this fantastic adventure film produced by Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, Zane Weiner, Deborah Forte and Amanda Walker. 

The Waterhorse

After word got out about Stansborough's adaptability and achievements, we were again approached to work with the team creating costumes for the children’s movie ‘The Waterhorse'.

Goodbye Pork Pie

In 2014, a remake of the film was announced, with Matt Murphy — one of Geoff Murphy's sons who had worked on the original version — as director. The same year, a re-enactment of the Lake Hawea chase was filmed to promote the New Mini, which will feature prominently in the remake, simply known as Pork Pie. The film was released in cinemas on 2 February 2017.

Lambs of God

Foxtel has produced its next landmark event drama series commission, Lambs of God, which premiered in 2019. Lambs of God is a dark, Gothic tale about three nuns, each a generation apart, living in an isolated convent by the coast, and an unwelcome visitor who enters their lives and changes their world forever.

Slow West

Slow West is a British-American action western thriller film written and directed by John Maclean in his directorial debut. Starring Michael FassbenderKodi Smit-McPhee, and Ben Mendelsohn, the film premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival on January 24, 2015, where it was awarded the Sundance Institute's World Cinema Jury Prize: Dramatic Winner.

Pete's Dragon

Pete's Dragon is a 2016 American fantasy adventure film directed by David Lowery, written by Lowery and Tony Halbrooks, and produced by James Whitaker. The film is a remake of the 1977 musical film of the same name written by Malcolm Marmorstein. The film stars Bryce Dallas HowardOakes FegleyWes BentleyKarl UrbanOona Laurence and Robert Redford. The special effects for Elliott the Dragon were done by Weta Digital.

Krampus

Krampus is a 2015 American Christmas comedy horror film based upon the eponymous character from Germanic folklore, directed by Michael Dougherty and written by Dougherty, Todd Casey and Zach Shields. The film stars Adam ScottToni ColletteDavid KoechnerAllison TolmanConchata FerrellEmjay AnthonyStefania LaVie Owenand Krista Stadler. It was released in the United Stateson December 4, 2015, by Universal Pictures.

Spartacus "Gods of the Arena"

Spartacus 'Gods of the Arena' is a Starz television miniseries and prequel to Spartacus, which premiered January 21, 2011. The series follows the character Gannicus, the first gladiator representing Lentulus Batiatus to become Champion of Capua.

30 Days of Night

30 Days of Night is a 2007 American horror film based on the comic book mini-series of the same name. The film is directed by David Slade and stars Josh HartnettMelissa George, and Danny Huston. The story focuses on an Alaskan town beset by vampires as it enters into a thirty-day long polar night.

Kidnapped

In 2004 we worked alongside Brendan Mahers costume designers creating special period costumes for the lead characters in 'Kidnapped'.  Starring: Adrian Dunbar, Iain Glen, Paul McGann, James Pearson, Kirstin Smith.  Directed by: Brendan Maher.

A BBC adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic.
